Let’s play Rummy 500 smart
Any card game has its own strategy, simple or more sophisticated one. Rummy 500 is no exception. This is a game of details – one needs to be as much attentive as he/she can. The main idea is to change your game according to the stage of game. Also it’s great to notice what cards are discarded and which cards from the discarded pile are taken by other users.
Some hints on playing Rummy 500
- As you start playing this game, try to collect as many high scoring cards as you can. If you manage to do this, you’ll be able to make high scoring sequences and thus prevent your opponents from doing the same.
- Discarding cards that can be used in sequences is not a good idea. Let’s say, there is already King in the discard pile. You discard another King and if any of your opponents holds a King, he or she is going to score high. That’s not what you need, so keep an eye on discard pile.
- If you get Aces in the early game, try to save them as potentially you can play a suit of Aces or use it to get points making an Ace-King-Queen sequence.
- If game turns not in your favor and there is a player who has just a couple of cards left while you have high scoring cards, it’s high time to get rid of them. Start discarding Tens, Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces as in case of defeat you will get huge negative score.
- Analyze cards in order to play accordingly to current situation. Let’s say you hold Queen while it has already been played twice in other sequences and there is one in discard pile. You shouldn’t keep holding that card, so it’s better to discard your Queen as there’s no way you can benefit from it much.
- Large stacks of discarded cards can be very dangerous. Taking them in the beginning of the game is normal and usually you can benefit from them, but if game is slowly approaching to the end and one player my go out, such stack can cause negative score.
- Don’t forget, card games are full of bluffing. You can do it in Rummy as well, so luring your opponents is a good idea.
